This HAX Homes duplex project is envisioned as a calm, elegant expression of coastal Hamptons architecture, carefully composed to feel light, welcoming, and enduring. The design draws on classic Hamptons principles—symmetry, proportion, and material restraint—reinterpreted through a contemporary lens suited to modern coastal living.
The façade is defined by clean gabled forms, crisp white cladding, and soft natural stone elements that introduce texture and depth. Vertical proportions and recessed upper balconies create shadow and articulation, while timber garage doors and entry accents add warmth against the light palette. This layered approach reflects a growing design trend toward blending coastal softness with architectural clarity, avoiding ornamentation in favour of considered detailing and material honesty.
Internally, the material selections set the tone for understated luxury. Pale timber-look flooring brings warmth and continuity, balanced by soft white and light grey surfaces that enhance natural light. Cabinetry is kept minimal and refined, with flat or lightly profiled doors in warm white tones.
Brushed brass hardware and tapware introduce a subtle metallic warmth, aligning with the ongoing shift toward softer, more tactile finishes over polished chrome.
Natural stone and concrete-look surfaces are proposed for benchtops and wet areas, offering durability while maintaining a calm, coastal aesthetic. Handmade-look tiles in muted whites and sands add gentle variation and texture, reinforcing the Hamptons emphasis on craftsmanship and timeless appeal. Soft neutral carpets in private spaces provide comfort and acoustic softness, supporting a relaxed, liveable atmosphere.
